In Grand Slam broadcasts from TV broadcaster Eurosport, the tennis legend as an expert is now part of the inventory. In the future, Becker will also be in use for another station.
Boris Becker takes on a new role in November in front of the TV cameras. The three-time Wimbledon winner will be in use for the payment channel Sky as a guest expert at the ATP finals in Turin. The tournament with the eight best players of the season runs from November 9th to 16th.
Becker will be heard from November 13th when the last group games begin. He analyzes the games and is also a co-commentator. He is supported by Andrea Petković, who himself belonged to the world leaders to the women for years and has now regularly appeared as a commentator and expert.
At the ATP finals, each participant initially plays three matches in a group of four. The two best of each group move into the semi -finals. The overall winner can win prize money of up to $ 5,071 million (around 4.3 million euros) – but only if he decides for all games. In the previous year, Jannik Sinner secured the title and earned 4.16 million euros.
Becker knows the event very well: he won the tournament in 1988, 1992 and 1995 and was five more times in the final.
Becker can also be seen on TV this week away from the tennis. On Thursday evening from 6.30 p.m. he will be a guest at “Triple – the Hagedorn Football Talk”. In addition to the former top goalkeepers Roman Weidenfeller and Oliver Kahn, he wants to bring his football expertise there.
