NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences has more and more top courses in Drenthe. Last year the HBO institution knew six courses with the designation TOP distributed over Meppel and Emmen, this year there are nine.
New top courses in Emmen are a primary school, industrial automation and robotics (Associate degree) and biology and medical laboratory research. At the same time, the Finance & Control course lost the designation. The Logistics Management, Chemistry and Leisure and Events Management (Associate degree) have retained the designation of top training. Associate Degree Opleidingen are a practical HBO courses with a legally recognized HBO diploma.
In Meppel, the two international teacher training courses (primary and or secondary vocational education) have been given the top. Marc Otto, the chairman of the NHL Stenden Executive Board, is happy with the good results. “It gives us the energy and motivation to continue to work for our students every day.”
In total, the HBO institution, with locations in Drenthe, Friesland, Groningen, Overijssel, Noord-Brabant and Noord-Holland, has 32 top courses. This is evident from the Keuzegids HBO 2026 that appeared today. Every year the guide maps out the training offer for all directions. The scores are based on the National Student Survey filled in by nearly 300,000 students, study success and opportunities on the labor market.
NHL Stenden is the only large college in the Netherlands with four excellent study areas: Law and governance, health, earth and the environment, and technology and design. According to the Keuzegids, the university is constantly performing. The institution has been in the top four of the 13 large Dutch colleges for eight years and this year is also in fourth place for the fourth time in a row.
