Change at the top of Bonprix.
Chief Executive Officer Torben Hansen will leave the company on October 31. Different views about the strategic orientation of the company led to a mutually agreed separation, as the daughter of the Hamburg retail group said Otto Group on Wednesday.
Hansen had held the position of CEO since spring 2024 after replacing Richard Gottwald. He was also responsible for Brand & Content, Digital Marketing, European Sales Management and People & Organization.
The CEO post left by Hansen is not filled directly. As of January 2026, Nicolai Johannsen, as a new Chief Marketing Officer, assumes responsibility for sales. Until then, the other board members Carolin Klar, Matthias Wlaka and Kai Heck Hansen’s tasks. The Bonprix Group is then managed on an equal footing by all four managing directors.
New Chief Marketing Officer No stranger to the Otto Group
The new Chief Marketing Officer from Bonprix has been part of the Otto Group since 2011. At that time, as an executive at Otto Group Consulting, he headed numerous group -wide projects before taking on the role of Vice President Sales in 2016. In this function, he was responsible for the reorganization of the OTTO sales areas, modernized classic concepts such as the main catalog and successfully expanded digital channels and online advertising, according to the message. He was also largely involved in the construction of the customer: “Otto Up” internal binding program and contributed to the professionalization of custom management management.
As Vice President Consumer Interactions, Johannsen has been responsible for all marketing channels, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), personalization as well as the Otto app and optimized the budget allocation through the expansion of statistical analysis and forecasting skills.
