“At the beginning of October, the quiet and pretty sunny weather will have the upper hand because dry air with an eastern wind enters our country,” says Sarah. “Occasionally there is a chance of some rain or a few showers, but large amounts of rain are not expected.”
Exact wind directions
Exactly how hot it gets at the beginning of the month depends on the exact wind direction. “If the wind blows from the southeast, the temperature can rise to around 20 degrees,” Sarah explains. “If the wind comes more from the east or northeast, then it stays around 15 degrees at Maxima.”
Cool mornings
The temperature difference between day and night is quite large at this time of the year. “During clear, windless nights it can cool down considerably. The minimum temperature is then between 3 and 7 degrees,” says Sarah. Get the warm jackets and gloves out of the cupboard!

The weather forecast for middle and at the end of October is still quite uncertain. Remnants of tropical storms, also known as ex-icans, can reach Western Europe via the Atlantic Ocean and strongly influence the weather here. “At the moment the expectation tends a little more to more changeable weather; a number of wet and boisterous days are conceivable.”
At the same time, during this period the wind will blow more often from southern to western directions, so that soft air is supplied. In short: it remains changeable, but also quite pleasant!
