The SBS 6 hit today Inside will broadcast two hours during the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala, instead of the usual hour. “I just hear it. I really had no idea. Yes, nice,” says Gijp.
The men of VI have already won the Golden Televizier ring once, but because of the jubilee of the prize gala they were also nominated this year. That happened and that is why they have a chance to win the public prize for the second time next month. Wilfred Genee in particular has been keen to take the ring away.
‘Seems smart’
Wilfred today revealed Inside that VI will broadcast for two hours on SBS 6 on Thursday 16 October, when the gala takes place. That way they can call people all evening to vote. “I don’t know who came up with it, but it seems smart to me,” says Evert Santegoeds to the desk of Shownieuws.
It is clever to use the situation, says Evert. “You can do two things: either it completely ignores or campaign all evening and they are planning that and that will certainly happen.”
“Had no idea”
René van der Gijp tells for the camera of Shownieuws that he is also news for him. “I just heard. I really had no idea. Yes, nice.”

Red carpet
The idea comes from Wilfred. “I think it starts at eight o’clock with that red carpet. You know my fanaticism. René is now surprised by it, but I was already aware of this. I actually wanted to start at half past three in the afternoon, but it turns out not to be possible,” he jokes.
Johan: “René and Wilfred find that very nice and it is of course a public award, so you don’t have to play down, but I have nothing to do with it and I am not working on it.”
