ÖFB assistant Lars Kornetka, who represented the injured team boss Ralf Rangnick, announced the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualification games against San Marino and Romania on Monday. This time there is no debutant among the 24 nominees. With Werder captain Marco Friedl and Wolfsberg goalkeeper Nikolas Upholster there are two returnees. The duo was last part of the ÖFB team in June.
Defender Samson Baidoo (Lens) and offensive man Andreas Weimann (derby) were no longer taken into account this time, while Xaver Schlager (Leipzig) and Tobias Lawal (Genk) had to cancel.
