After a dynamic first quarter of an hour in Freiburg, both the sports club and the guests from Hoffenheim could no longer add. Nevertheless, SCF keeper Noah Atubolu was in demand.

In the Baden-Württemberg duel, SC Freiburg and TSG Hoffenheim separated 1-1 (1: 1) on the fifth matchday. Lukas Kübler (3rd minute) gave Freiburg in the lead after a few minutes. Shortly thereafter, Fisnik Asllani (13th) achieved equalization for Hoffenheim.

Freiburg coach Schuster: “Teams have given themselves nothing”

“I am completely fine with the performance today. These were two teams that have given themselves nothing on the pitch. I would have liked that we could keep our leadership longer, but I am still very satisfied,” said SCF coach Julian Schuster in an interview with SWR Sport. Vincenzo Grifo, who was involved in the misunderstanding that had contributed to the guidance of the guests, struggled with it: “My thought was that Toni was [Anthony Jung, A.d.R] beats away the ball. He thought I was taking him with me. It’s a shame, of course that annoys me a bit, but that’s part of it. “

TSG goal scorer Fisnik Asllani: “Could have won”

“We have shown again that we could not stop any setbacks, but that we can achieve the connecting goal directly. With a little luck, we could have won the game,” said TSG Fisnik Asllani goal scorer after the game. Hoffenheim coach Ilzer saw it similarly, was nevertheless satisfied with the draw: “If you look at the chances at the end, the victory would still have been possible. But with the early deficit it was a fair tie.”

Compared to the 2: 1 victory against FC Basel at the European Cup start on Thursday SC coach Julian Schuster changed twice: Jordy Makengo and Eren Dinkçi moved into the starting eleven for Christian Günter and the red-locked Johan Manzambi. There were also two changes to the Hoffenheimers after the 1: 4 against record champions Bayern Munich: Arthur Chaves and Andrej Kramaric replaced Albian Hajdari and Muhammed Damar.

Lightning start for SC Freiburg – Hoffenheim can answer

The first corner of the restless and slightly driving game at the beginning gave the Freiburgers the lead: At the second post, Junior Adamu put the ball into the five -meter space, where Lukas Kübler pushed in from a short distance. After only three minutes it was 1-0 for the Breisgauer.

However, the TSG was already lurking on the counterattack and took the opportunity just ten minutes later: after a misunderstanding between two Freiburgers, Vladimir Coufal took the ball and fit on the Asllani. SC keeper Noah Atubolu could not prevent the equalization of the guests.

SCF goalkeeper Atubolu asked during the final phase

As a result, the game was interrupted by a few breaks. Among other things, the scorer of the Freiburg Lukas Kübler had to be replaced after a collision with Bernardo. The game lost, compared to the first quarter of an hour, clearly in dynamics and game flow. At the break it remained 1-1.

Balanced and at eye level it continued in the second half. After a good hour, the Freiburgers were a little more often in front of the guests’ goal. With Patrick Osterhage, the Breisgauer came to a degree again in the 67th minute, which, however, flew past the goal.

The TSG then had the two best chances of the second round shortly before the end of the regular season: In the 87th minute, Tim Lemperle came to a conclusion after a pass from Ihlas Bebou. Atubolu saved his team from gap by gloss parade. The SCF keeper also secured the free kick of the guests two minutes later and thus saved the Freiburgers at least one point in the duel with TSG Hoffenheim. With the draw, the Kraichgauer remain unbeaten this season and have already kidnapped seven points from foreign stadiums.
