Thomas Müller and Vancouver only get one point in Seattle. After the final whistle, the veteran still stood up a trophy.
In the away game at the Seattle Sunders, Thomas Müller and the Vancouver Whitecaps in the North American Major League Soccer (MLS) did not get beyond a 2-2 draw. However, the former international had a reason to be happy: Müller returned to the pitch due to his adductor injury after three missed games – and promptly won the first title.
The Whitecaps secured the so -called Cascadia Cup for the eighth time (record). This title is traditionally played within the season between Vancouver, Seattle and the Portland Timbers in the Pacific Northwest region. Müller accepted the cup after the game with the cheers of the teammates.
Previously, Müller prepared the 1-0 by Brian White (52nd minute). For White it was the 16th goal of the season. In the 62nd minute, the 36-year-old Müller was replaced for Sebastian Berhalter, who, after an interim 1-2 deficit, lay down the 2-2 for Mathías Laborda (69.).
Vancouver is sure to be a rank of the top four teams in the Western Conference, which is synonymous with the home right in the decisive game of the “Best-of-Three series” in the first play-off round. The whitecaps are currently in second place, tied with the San Diego FC (both 57).
