Jérôme Boateng has ended his active career, now he wants to be a coach. He has now received a tempting offer from a former teammate.

Former international Jérôme Boateng wants to become a trainer and can already look forward to a top -class hospitant position. Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said when asked that he would like to invite the former Munich professional to be there in training on Säbener Strasse.

“A few weeks come to us? Share his experience as a top defender? Of course! I would always invite you to hundred percent. That is very valuable,” said Kompany.

Company and Boateng know each other well, they played at Hamburger SV and later at Manchester City. “We have a common past and are good friends,” said the Belgian. “I am extremely proud of him and happy about what he has achieved.”

Boateng was one of the best defenders in the world for years. In 2014 he became world champion with Germany. He was active in Bavaria from 2011 to 2021 and, among other things, won the Champions League and nine championship titles twice. He has been without a club since last August – a few days ago, the Berlin -born declared his career end at the age of 37.

After the acquisition of the trainer B license at the end of 2024, he is now striving for the A license and then the football teacher. Kompany trusts his former teammate a successful coaching career. “Of course he can be a top coach if he wants that,” said Kompany. “It’s like playing football, you have to work hard. You can always be the best, but it takes time.”

It is important to surround themselves with good people, the Bayern coach advised. That is why he also thinks it is a good idea to bring ex-professionals like Boateng into training. “I would invite every Bayern legend with good intentions for a week so that it will share the experience. Our boys still want to learn.”
