Iilams at the time girlfriend, Jesseca Carson, claimed that the young child would be possessed. She was sentenced to a life sentence and Milam received the death penalty in 2018.

According to the judges, Milam hit the girl with a hammer, bit her, strangled her and mutilated her for more than thirty hours. The forensic pathologist who carried out the autopsy found several skull fractures, broken arms, legs and ribs, and countless bite wounds. “So many potentially deadly injuries that no specific cause of death could be determined,” the expert said during the process.

Lawyers ask to reject execution

Milam denies to this day and points to Carson as responsible. His lawyers asked the American Supreme Court to reject the execution. They argue that the judgment partly rests on discredit forensic evidence, including biting traces, and that Milam has an intellectual disability.

The Public Prosecution Service of Texas rejects those arguments and emphasizes that new DNA investigation is still linking him to the victim.

If the execution continues on Thursday evening, Milam is the fifth anniversary who is executed this year in Texas. The southern state has been carrying out most executions in the United States for decades.

An exorcism is a religious ritual that is performed in some faith traditions to expel an alleged demon or evil spirit from a person. In an exorcism, most people think of Catholic exorcism, in which a priest tries to get a demon from a possessed person through prayers.

Exorcism became known to the general public by the Hollywood film ‘The Exorcist’ from 1973. In some impressions, people even fainted.
