“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Returned yesterday after a one -week suspension. Much to the delight of many spectators. However, one was not very enthusiastic: Donald Trump.

Trump’s threat to ABC

The president reacted with a tirade to Truth Social and said he wanted to sue the Kimmel station. “I cannot believe that ABC Fake News Jimmy Kimmel returned his job,” wrote Trump. “The White House was informed by ABC that his show was dropped!

Trump continued: “Why should you get someone back that is so bad, is not funny and put the broadcaster in danger by spreading 99 percent positive democrat propaganda? He is just another arm of the DNC and after my best knowledge that would be a massive illegal campaign contribution. I will test it. It is even more lucrative.

Last week ABC and Disney abruptly suspended the traditional late night show. As the reason, they cited an “inappropriate and insensitive” monologue in which Kimmel criticized conservative politicians to politically exploit the murder of Charlie Kirk. Kimmel initially silenced while Hollywood raised his voice to defend his defense.

Kimmel’s return on the air

In his return monologue, Kimmel thanked his supporters-including those “who do not support my show and my views, but defend my right to express them”. He added emotionally, “it was never my intention to ridicule the murder of a young man”.

At the same time, he criticized the trump government’s attempts to push him out of the program: “I hardly careful at school, but I learned one thing from Lenny Bruce, George Carlin and Howard Stern: If a government is trying to silence a comedian because the president does not like him, this is anti-American.” He is happy about solidarity from left, right and from the middle, “like Joe Rogan. Maybe that’s the little positive side – that we have found a thing that we can agree on. And maybe we will find another one.”

Political pressure and old feud

FCC chairman Brendan Carr had previously claimed that Kimmel wanted to support the narrative that Kirk’s shooter was “somehow a Maga or Republican-motivated person”, and called this “sick”. He strengthened the pressure of Trump and conservative media.

Kimmel and Trump have been delivering a public feud for years. At the Oscar ceremony in the previous year, Trump’s truth-social contribution read live and joked: “Thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I am surprised that you are still awake-hasn’t it long since your bedtime in prison?” Trump later referred to him as “Trottel” and “one of the stupidest people at all”.

Kimmel’s view of Trump

In April, Kimmel told Rolling Stone that he enjoyed applying Trump. “I think most comedians have a strong sense of justice, and he constantly injures it. It is like a comic base weight. He should have disappeared long ago, but he is still there. In the past, I wanted to educate people who did not pay attention to the news. This did not cause enough before the election. Now I see myself more as a valve to scream.”
