Ex-DFB professional new expert-premiere for commentator

The group phase of the Europa League starts on Wednesday. There are a few new faces in the on-air team at TV rights holder RTL.

According to the Champions League, it is before the Europa League: After the premier class has already started in the new season last week, the second European competition will also follow on Wednesday. As in the past year, the games of the Europa League will be broadcast on the main channel RTL as well as on the Save Nitro and the streaming service RTL+ this season. This time there are some new faces.

Jana Wosnitza now moderates the game day show “Matchday” on RTL+alternately with Anna Kraft. The 31-year-old made her debut on Wednesday when SC Freiburg hits FC Basel.

A day later, Max Kruse is another new addition to RTL for the first time. In the future, the former German international will act alternately with Patrick Helmes and Felix Kroos at “Matchday” on RTL+ as an expert. As a striker of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Kruse had once played in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Wolff-Christoph Fuss is also celebrating a premiere. The 49-year-old commented on Thursday with Germany’s record national player Lothar Matthäus for the first time an RTL broadcast in the European Cup. Foot and Matthew are used for the game between VfB Stuttgart and Celta Vigo on the microphone. The transmission begins at 8:35 p.m., the game at 9 p.m.

In addition to the Europa League, RTL also holds the rights to the Conference League. However, this only starts in the competition in early October.

RTL and Nitro show a highlight encounter with German participation in free TV on every game day of the Europa League. On RTL+, football fans can see up to ten selected top games from both competitions, with all German teams, in individual games or as conferences.
