The morning show Die Gordon and his co-host Froukje de Both on Radio 10 is not yet a great success. The market share of the station has only fallen since they took office, and that is of course not the intention, notes Mediaciticus Victor Vlam in his podcast Victor explains TV. “If you put something big in the market, you want to see an increase.”

Weak lemonade

Radio 10 is down in the elevator. “It is not only in market share that it has started to score less, the listening time and the weekly range have fallen since the beginning of the month from Radio 10, so in all respects this is not all that good. Well, the question is of course: what is it going on? I have listened to the radio show recently.”

Gordon Kán Ad brake comes out of the corner and the Jingle package is beautiful, thinks Victor, Máár: “It is really very faint often. The show is so limp as lemonade in which a whole Tree ice cubes has melted and that is expressed in the fact that there is a lot of laughter, while I am not thinking that way:

Smile

There is often hysterical laughter to get atmosphere in the show, says Victor. “I have trouble squeezing a smile, while you are in a crack in the studio. I have to say: that is one of the things you often see with all those morning shows on the radio.”

At Gordon and Froukje, however, there is “the superlative of it,” he continues. The media aritor points to a fragment in which Froukje describes the dress of Princess Amalia – probably rehearsed – as ‘butter gauge’, after which the rest starts to laugh very hard, because it sounds like ‘butter horny’. “A bit of a silly discussion,” says Victor.

Peak

However, Gordon and Froukje find this top amusement, says Victor. “They came back to this all week. This is something that has been discussed several times that broadcasting day and on Friday they also came back to several times. It was even in the compilation of best moments of the week on Friday.”

He continues: “If this is the highlight of the week, then something goes wrong. It is just too forced. Look, there are a number of people in the studio who think of: we have to make it fun and funny, and if you are a little easier with your smile, then the listener also laughs faster, but you can’t force the smile.”

Listening

Victor also states that the input of listeners is clearly fake. For example, a ‘listener’ said with a distorted voice that he gave his twin brother permission to go to bed with his girlfriend in a drunken mood. “You have to be very religious to believe that this is a real listener’s question. This is rape.”

Nobody will confess this on national radio, he concludes. “It is a stunt to be a bit controversial there,” he says. “It is obvious fake. It’s not real. (…) I also noticed that there was really a lot of criticism on the Facebook pages of Radio 10. Many listeners do not appreciate it. ”

Extremely faint

Victor repeats this criticism in the The Oranjezondag from last night. “I must honestly say: I find it really disappointing. I think it is really extremely bland. At times I think Gordon is really very funny, I can enjoy it, he can come out sharply, but this morning show is just not so much fun.”

There he also repeats the Amalia fragment. “Let’s take a look. Check if this is funny.”

After the fragment there is a dead silence in the studio. “I think: if this is the highlight of your show, something will go drastically wrong and then things really have to be changed again.”
