The Finnish textile provider Marimekko Corporation further expands its presence in Asia. On Monday, the company announced that it would open a new flagship store in Hong Kong on October 16.

The new store, the local franchise partner Sidefame Ltd. An existing branch in Hong Kong is operated, which has also been on the Leighton Road in the popular shopping district of Causeway Bay since 2012. With the reopening in the same street, the upgrade to the flagship is now being upgraded. The current shop construction concept of the brand will also be used there.

Asia is the focus of Marimekko’s expansion plans

Natacha Defrance, the Senior Vice President, Sales, East region at Marimekko, explained the step. “We believe that even in a digitized world creative and emotionally appealing physical retail concepts play an important role as the heart of brand culture and promoting Omnichannel growth,” she said in a statement. “We are happy to take this next step in Hong Kong with our esteemed partner Sidefame to further strengthen the Marimekko phenomenon.”

The new opening takes place as part of the company’s current expansion strategy for the years until 2027. In these plans, Asia is the focus of as “most important geographical region for international growth”.
