Karim Adeyemi was not only the BVB match winner on Sunday, he also received a special praise from the referee.
With his first goal in this Bundesliga season, Karim Adeyemi Borussia Dortmund took the winning road in Wolfsburg 1-0 in Wolfsburg. But the 23-year-old not only noticed through his goal.
Referee Daniel Siebert expressly praised Adeyemi after the game for an action in the first half. When Wolfsburg’s Patrick Wimmer was injured on the ground, the BVB attacker had free rail on the right wing. Instead of playing out the overpayment situation, Adeyemi deliberately transported the ball out in the 32nd minute.
“I would like to use the stage because it is not so common in professional football that you have such a horny fair play campaign,” said Siebert at DAZN. Adeyemi told the impartial “that he doesn’t want to benefit from such an action. I thought that was very great.”
The referee also made it clear how much explosive in the scene: Dortmund had played the advantage and possibly scored a goal, “the Wolfsburg Wild would have become,” said Siebert. In his opinion, this could have leaded to a pack formation.
