Kay de Wolf did not succeed in his world title in the MX2 in the Australia Darwin in Australia. The 20-year-old motocross rider from Eersel was in the all-decisive race for a while with title favorite Simon Längenfelder, but he was naked by problems with his motorcycle.
For the twentieth and last Grand Prix of this season in Darwin, Längenfelder had the best papers for the world title in advance. His lead on the wolf in the general classification was sixteen points for this weekend. But because the Wolf won the qualifying match on Saturday, the backlog became smaller. When the motocross rider from Eersel also won the first moto on Sunday morning, the gap was only ten points.
Längenfelder fell in the second and last moto. He therefore ended up in thirteenth place. The wolf drove in the front. The two competitors came to the lead virtually in the final classification.
After a while, however, the German returned to eighth place. With that he again took a big step towards the world title. However, it remained exciting until the wolf’s engine stopped. As a result, the motocross rider from Eersel had to put a new world title out of his head.
