Eveline Saalberg, together with Lieke Klaver, Myrte van der Schoot and Lisanne de Witte, has qualified for the final of the 4×400 meter relay at the World Athletics World Championship in Tokyo. The athlete from Vessem ran with her three team enjoyers to third place in the series in a time of 3.24.03.

There was a hitch at the Wissel between second runner Klaver and Van der Schoot. The two almost dropped the baton. Final runner De Witte started her round second and was overtaken just before the finish by the Belgian Helena Ponette. The American team won the series signed in a time of 3.22.53.

This third place in the series was good for a direct passage to the final on Sunday. Earlier in the day, the Dutch relay men also qualify for the final in Tokyo.

Hurry
Femke Bol, who won her second world title on the 400 meter hurdles on Friday, got Rust on Saturday. She is expected to be in the Dutch women’s relay team on Sunday.
