A 23-year-old man from Wouw entered a stable on the Boomdijk in Steenbergen on Friday night. He was arrested by the police because he was under the influence. It is already the second time in one week that a car enters the shed.
The driver lost control of the steering wheel around four in the morning and drove through the stone wall of the stable. He came to a halt against an agricultural vehicle. The car hit Total Loss. There were no animals in the stable.
The man was under the influence. The police arrested him and took him to the police station. He was banned from driving. The public prosecutor will decide later whether his driver’s license will be deducted or returned.
Already the seventh time
It was shocked for the residents of the house next to the barn for the umpteenth time. On Sunday evening around ten o’clock there was also a car against the wall. “Twice in one week. It’s not normal,” says resident Jan Mulders. “In the thirteen years that we live here it has already happened four times.” His parents, who lived in the house for this, also experienced it three times.
So seven times a havoc. According to Mulders, it is not on the road or the lack of lighting. “It is not a dangerous bend at all. The road comes out on the barn, but we all have reflectors hanging on the wall. You can see it from 700 meters. So it really depends on the drivers.”
