The rumors are right. Miley Cyrus officially published “Secrets”, Your new single with Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham.
A song for Billy Ray Cyrus
The collaboration appears on the deluxe version of “Something Beautiful” published today. “Secrets/I Want to Keep Your Secrets/Like Sunlight In The Shadow/Like Footsteps in the Grass”, Cyrus sings to the legendary Fleetwood Mac sounds.
“This song was written as a offer of peace for someone I had lost for a while but always loved,” wrote Cyrus on Instagram. “In my experience, forgiveness and freedom are the same. Thanks to Lindsey Buckingham & Mick Fleetwood that you brought magic into music. This song is for my father.”
The first indications of the collaboration was at the end of August when Billy Ray Cyrus posted a section of the song on Instagram and revealed that his daughter wrote the piece for him. “For his birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music, a song called ‘Secrets’, and she got my favorite musician from Fleetwood Mac,” he wrote.
Fleetwood Mac compounds and deluxe album
It is not the first time that Cyrus is flirting with the universe of Fleetwood Mac. Already in 2020 she published “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)”, a mixture of her hits “Midnight Sky” with Stevie Nicks’ classic “Edge of Seventen” from 1982.
“Secrets” is one of two new songs on the deluxe edition of “Something Beautiful”, alongside “Lockdown” with David Byrne. The standard version appeared at the end of May and was counted by Rolling Stone the best albums in 2025. It is Cyrus’ ninth studio album and contains contributions by Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell. “All 13 songs have a special place in my heart,” said Cyrus at the time.
Future plans and Hannah Montana anniversary
Although Cyrus still has no desire for tours, she recently revealed that she is planning something “really special” for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana in March 2026. “Without Hannah, this I wouldn’t exist,” she said in an interview with Siriusxm.
“It is crazy to think that I started as a figure that I thought was impossible to overcome,” she added. “And now it is something nostalgic from childhood for many who are woven with my life as much as the figure itself. That makes it exciting to celebrate this anniversary.”
