Astrid Koper likes to come to the Coffee Club: “Since my husband has died, you have been alone. People have stayed away since then or come by less often.” Anna van der Ploeg lets a cookie jar with gingerbreads. She likes that so many men come to the coffee morning. “They really look for each other here. Women still invite each other a little easier at home.”
Fred Greef has been a widower for four years and enjoys the weekly company. “With a sticky cake, that’s nice,” he says laughing.
