The handball players from Zap from Breezand play for the first time in club history at the highest level in the Netherlands. This weekend they played their first home game in the Eredivisie. Volendam was the opponent and NH Sport was present.
“For a village club with purely players from the region and without the big money, this is of course an unparalleled success,” said sponsor Martin Dikken. “This is terribly fun to experience. We hope it is for ten years,” says board member Nel van der Sluis with a smile.

Before the competition, there was a lot of work in the sports hall. For example, volunteers mounted plates on the ceiling to improve the acoustics and the hall has been refurbished. “This way Zap can go well into the Eredivisie,” says Dikken.
Whether Zap also achieves a success in the match against Volendam, you can see in the video above.
