Joyful news for Johannes Dale-Skjevdal: The biathlete’s wife born a son. This is named after another family member.
The Norwegian biathlon star Johannes Dale-Skjevdal has become a father for the first time. In a post on Instagram, the 28-year-old announced the birth of his son.
Dale-Skjevdal published two photos on the social media platform. In the first he can be seen from behind how he goes out of a building for a long time. Dale-Skjevdal holds a baby basket in his right hand. It is easy to recognize: a newborn that, among other things, wears a white wool hat. In the second photo, a hand, probably that of Dale-Skjevdal’s Ms. Kristin, holds the child’s hand.
The athlete also revealed in the post, as his son is called: Jon. The name is apparently of great importance for Dale-Skjevdal. Jon is named after a family member. “You got my grandfather’s name,” wrote Dale-Skjevdal. The relationship with this seems to have shaped him. Because he added: “If you are only half as generous, hardworking and good like him, then you will be a great guy.”
Numerous companions commented on the birth of the child under the post. “Congratulations,” wrote the Swedish biathlete Sebastian Samuelsson. “Enjoy time.” The Italian Dorothea Wierer commented with four emojis with heart eyes. The former German biathlete Franziska Hildebrand and DSV athlete Vanessa Voigt also followed the congratulations.
Dale-Skjevdal won three medals in his career at Biathlon World Championships. In 2020 he won silver with the Norwegian relay in Antholz, 2021 in Pokljuka bronze in singles and silver in the mass start. At the European Championships on Arber 2022, he secured gold with the mixed relay. He and his wife have been married since summer 2023.
