Fans can look forward to: The Rolling Stones will soon end the work on their 25th album.
After over six decades, 99 singles and 24 studio albums, the Rolling Stones still don’t have enough. As Marlon Richards tells, the band is currently working on their 25th release: “You still have enough material from the last album.”

Even before the publication of her last LP Hackney Diamonds from 2023, Mick Jagger explained that nobody had to expect an end to the band. He said to the “New York Times”: “I don’t think it’s the last Rolling-Stones album. We have already finished almost three quarters of the next album.” Ronnie Wood also spoke about the number of new songs that were created at the Hackney Diamonds songwriting sessions, and assured that fans did not have to wait long for further songs. “Paul McCartney actually played on two tracks, of which we have one in a flash to bring out more material,” the 78-year-old told “NME”. Of the 23 songs recorded, only a selection of twelve pieces made it onto the plate.

In an interview for the new edition of the US “Rolling Stone”, the actor and film producer Marlon Richards-son of guitarist Keith-asked what the band is currently doing. “You are currently in the city and record an album,” he replied. A big tour of Europe and the USA was actually planned for this summer, but there were difficulties with the appointments. Instead, the Stones decided to go back to the studio and record their next album.
The band still has a good portion of vigor and desire to publish more music. So Richards said: “They received a Grammy, and are now very excited and say: ‘We have more of it if you want’. I guess you are working on a follow-up.”
New album in view
In terms of speculation about an upcoming tour, fans still have to be patient. It will probably not take too long for the new album of the Rolling Stones to be on the market. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are currently working on the last trains of the new album in the Metropolis Studio in Cheswick. Since April the band has been busy with new music on site. Andrew Watt, the producer who was involved in Hackney Diamonds (2023), is said to work in the follow -up album – but Marlon Richards did not comment on that. Instead, he jokingly complains about the “absurd” working hours that the three musicians would continue after all the years: “From noon until about two in the morning. At that time I prefer to be somewhere else!”
