Liisa was unable to eat a certain batch of Valio Oltermanni cheeses, which she bought several songs. This is how Valio responds.

Iltalehti was contacted by reader Liisa, who was disappointed with Valio’s Oltermanni cheeses. Liisa’s name has been changed because she has bought some of the cheeses in her workplace and does not want to be identified.
On a grocery trip trip, Liisa bought a 17 % Oltermanni cream cheese disc. When he got home, he noticed that the structure of the cheese was strange – like the taste.
– It was like a few nets and tasted sour, so I didn’t bother to eat it. The composition was poor and broken and the taste had changed. It was bad.
Later, Liisa bought more cheeses in the same batch from a different store for parties. They were even worse, Liisa says.
– They were pretty round balls, swollen like mandarins.
All poor quality cheese discs were of the same item with the date of manufacture of 28.3.2025.
“I fed the worst cheeses for dogs,” Liisa says disappointed.
Liisa sent a picture of poor quality cheeses. The cheese slices in the picture are from three different cheese, all of which are the same set of Valio Oltermanni 17 % cheese.
According to Liisa, Valio should pull the whole poor quality cheese back. He asked Valio and in response that the cheeses in that lot had been found to be edible.
– I’m really disappointed that such a big company will pay their customers with their own mistakes. 17 % Oltermanni is an expensive, good cheese. Now it wasn’t.
– I had to drive 220 kilometers to the store in vain and took hours to get new cheeses, he is annoyed.
Liisa says she plans to buy Arla’s cheeses in the future.
Valio commented
We contacted Valio and asked about Oltermann’s cheese batch, which is on March 28, 2025. We also sent them a picture of poor quality cheeses.
Valio Category Manager Patricia Holmström wanted to answer the questions by email.
What has happened in the production of this batch of cheese that cheeses have become such? Does the problem apply to the whole batch?
-In March, Valio Oltermanni’s cheese was a disturbance that has caused some structural, taste and odor deviations in some Valio Oltermanni cheese. Production challenges have been resolved and different products have been removed from the items to be delivered for sale. Unfortunately, because of large production items, not all of these products have been excluded from sales, Holmström writes.
Why haven’t cheeses back?
-The production disorder does not pose a food safety risk to the products, so the product batches were not removed, as our consumer service has already responded to your reader. We will refund different products in accordance with our practice, in practice our consumer service is processed by complaints.
