For a long time it was unclear where Fábio Vieira would appear this season. It became the HSV shortly before the transfer was closed – the Portuguese previously had completely different plans.

A few days before the end of the change period, Fábio Vieira was not an issue at Hamburger SV. The offensive player from FC Arsenal held talks with other clubs, at the VfB Stuttgart on the piece, where you were looking for a replacement after the departure of Enzo Millot (al-Nahli), but the Bundesliga team ultimately chose Bilal El Khannouss from Leicester City. It was only late in August that the trail led to the Bundesliga promoter from the north.

Previously, the 25-year-old was apparently also brought into play by his advisors at Bayern. After Jamal Musiala had broken the fibula at the club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain, the question arose for a replacement for the playmaker. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, the Gestifute agency then offered Vieira as well as Marco Asensio (Fenerbahçe).

While interest in the former real Madrid player Asensio was initially greater due to his experience, a transfer ultimately failed due to the Spaniard’s salary. Negotiations with Vieira, on the other hand, never accepted concrete forms.

So it only came to the turn at the end of August. The HSV became active shortly before the transfer period expires. On September 1, the last day of transfer, the rental base change was finally made.
