Endurance runner Camilla Richardsson was already selected for the Finnish team for the Tokyo World Championships. At the beginning of August, it was reported that the marathoner would have to drop out of the value races due to a leg failure.
Now the runner has published an update on social media to open up his or her health as follows:
– When I put myself in the starting line in an important competition, I want to feel ready, self -confident and able to give my best. At the moment I’m not in that situation. That’s why I decide to take a step back, focus on recovery and rebuild myself both physically and mentally.
An experienced athlete states that he has been in difficult situations during his career.
“It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up,” Richardsson continues.
At the same time, he wishes good luck to all athletes in the Finnish team.
For the first time, Richardsson, 31, participated in the adult value races in the Beijing World Championships in 2015. Two years ago, at the Budapest World Championships, the value race was ranked 15th in the 10,000 meters.
The Tokyo World Championships will begin on Saturday.
