The man was attacked around 7.50 pm when he walked over the parking lot of supermarket Aldi aan de Zegge. The young people – all boys – hit and kick the man. They stop when a bystander threatens to intervene, and then flee. The man is taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Nothing is known about a motive, a police spokesperson said. “That is part of the research.” After the mistreatment, the police spoke to several witnesses, and the victim has now made a statement.
Description thanks to witness statements
Thanks to witness statements, the police of eight young people have been able to draw up a description, but none of them has been traced for the time being. The police therefore appeal to their parents to report if they suspect or know that their children have been involved in this.
