A lane has since been released on the A2 near Breukelen, the ANWB reports. The road was completely closed early on Tuesday morning in the direction of Utrecht due to an accident. According to Rijkswaterstaat, the road was littered with junk. Around 8 a.m. there is still about half hour delay on the road between Abcoude and Breukelen.

Elsewhere it is also busy on the road, partly due to the rain. According to the ANWB, around 700 kilometers of traffic jams were on the A and N roads around 8 a.m. Among others at Arnhem, at the Hoevelaken junction and in the south it is busier. There is more than 52 kilometers of traffic jams on the A1.
“Here and there the rain causes somewhat longer daily traffic jams,” says a spokesperson for the ANWB traffic information. On Tuesday it is always busy on the road.
