“He cried the entire flight”: Russian deserter (25) who asked asylum in US, sent back to Moscow in tears

Andreï Vovchenko (25) was put from the United States and risks in Russia for up to ten years in prison. In October 2022 he decided to desert the Russian army and to apply for asylum in the United States. At the end of August, however, American immigration services intervened: they picked him up and put him on a plane to Moscow.
