Emergency services have been pulled out to the incident en masse. Around half past one the fire brigade received a report from a person on the water in the canal along the Oostdijk in Heerhugowaard. The fire brigade is now looking for the person with, among other things, a boat and two diving teams.
In the air above the water, the police are looking for a helicopter and a drone.

The police report that a bicycle with things has been found on the roadside next to the channel. “The person has been given up to us as missing,” the police say. “That’s why we’re looking hard now.”
How the person ended up in the water is not clear.
