The Slam results say that Nole is the strongest on the circuit after Sinner and Alcaraz. Also the clashes directed against the rest of the top 10 confirm it

There is no doubt that, despite the 38 years old and a career in which he has nothing more to demonstrate, Novak Djokovic is currently the third player in the world. The ranking said number 7 before the start of the US Open and currently number 4, with overtaking hopes on Zverev only in case of victory in New York, but it is clear that Nole is still the strongest of all, excluding Sinner and Alcaraz. In 2025 the Serbian played 11 tournaments, less than any other summit player: the four Slam, four Masters 1000 (Indian Wells, Miami, Montecarlo and Madrid), more Brisbane, Doha and Geneva (which allowed him to win the 100th title). The ranking no longer interests him, but the 25th Slam represents a possible undertaking, despite the 38 years old. And if to allow a last big dance to Nole, the feeling is that something strongly unexpectedly should happen to Jannik and Carlos, the negative message is for all the other top 10, which have a sensationally unfavorable balance against Djoker.

Zverev and the others

Direct Djokovic is forward 9-5 on Zverev, who remains an unfinished eternal but is still a player with 24 career titles, an Olympic gold medal and three Slam finals (the last lost against Sinner in Melbourne 2025). The balance is even more worrying towards Taylor Fritz. The American, outgoing finalist US Open, was overwhelmed by the Nole on Arthur Ashe, collecting the eleventh defeat in as many matches with the Serbian champion. And if with Draper there are few indications (a single confrontation won by Nole to Wimbledon 2021), with Alex de Minaur il Face to face he says 3-1 for Djoker, with the last victory at the All England Club less than two months ago. With Ben Shelton Nole is ahead 1-0, thanks to the meadows Flushing Meadows semifinal two years ago, the one in which Djokovic imitated the gesture of the typical American phone call. Nole is sensationally ahead also against our Lorenzo Musetti (8-1), with the last success achieved in Miami in the spring. Similar record with Karen Khachanov, which currently closes the top 10. The balance reads 9-1 for the multiple champion Slam, which is also clearly dominant on Rune (4-2) and Medvedev and Rublev Russians (10-5 with Daniil, 5-1 with Andrey). Both the sensations and the numbers – also at the end of 2025 and after 20 years of career – say that Novak Djokovic remains the most credible alternative to Sinner and Alcaraz. He will probably have to defeat them both in a few hours to conquer the fifth title in New York, the 25th of an unrepeatable career. It would be one of the greatest masterpieces in its infinite history. Yesterday, today, tomorrow. And forever.
