Dow Jones-Volkswagen will not continue the numbering of its electric models and instead will reset the known models again in the future. As the company announced, the ID is the first car from 2026. Polo onto the market. So far, the DAX group had numbered its electric cars, starting with the ID.3 since 2019. The study on the new Polo had so far led VW under the name ID.
“Our model names are firmly anchored in the minds of the people. They stand for a strong brand and embody properties such as quality, timeless design and technology for everyone,” said VW brand boss Thomas Schäfer. “Therefore we will lead our known names to the future. The Id. Polo is only the beginning,” added the manager.
