FC Twente has completed the arrival of Marko Pjaca (30). The 28-time Croatian International, substitute in the 2018 World Cup final, comes to the club from Enschede transfer-free. Pjaca played for Dinamo Zagreb last season. Pjaca has signed a two -year contract.
,, I am happy that I am here now, it feels good to be here at FC Twente, “says Marko Pjaca.” I hope to join the group as soon as possible, meet the players and help the club. FC Twente is a club with a good tradition. Everyone I spoke about FC Twente told me how to experience the amiance in the city. To make this phase of my career a good choice.
Technical director Jan Streuer thinks Pjaca is a good reinforcement: ,, Marko Pjaca is an experienced Croatian international, who can handle all positions in the front. Last season, Marko had an excellent year at Dinamo Zagreb, both in the national competition and in the Champions League. I have been in contact with Marko for a long time and during our conversations he became more and more enthusiastic about FC Twente. I think our joint ambitions fit together well. We want to get European football and he wants to play with Croatia at the World Cup next year. He will definitely give our selection with his experience and his quality a boost. “
Pjaca played in youth for Dinamo Zagreb, among others, and made a transfer to Juventus in the summer of 2016. During his period at the Italian top club, he came out on a rental basis for FC Schalke 04, Fiorentina, RSC Anderlecht, Genoa, Torino and Empoli. In the past two seasons, Pjaca came out in its own country for HNK Rijeka and Dinamo Zagreb. With this last club he ended up in the UEFA Champions League last season. Pjaca played a total of 356 games in professional football and scored 66 times.
