“This is Punky”, Astrid points to a rooster with tangled springs, “we found it in the Helderse Valley”.
The sisters are concerned for Sad Dieren from an early age. “We always chose animals in the pet store that looked sick, weak and nauseous,” laughs Ingrid. For the roosters, the sisters look for people with a large garden or farmyard, so that the animals can walk outside for part of the day and not sit in a loft all day.
