The shooting that took place on Monday afternoon in the vicinity of the Liesbosstraat in Breda has to do with a conflict between two former business partners in the fair world. Multiple sources confirm this to the Telegraaf. A 39-year-old man was seriously injured in the shooting. He is in the hospital. The 62-year-old suspect is an acquaintance of the victim.
The shooting went according to De Telegraaf An appointment with a civil lawyer in advance. There, the two fairground entrepreneurs tried to handle a business conflict. The two men would have made an investment together in a fun house as a fair attraction. It would be “the largest movable attraction in Europe”.
The attraction, a funhouse, was built in Noord-Holland and is considered a millions of project in the fairground industry.
Shooting after attempted mediation
What started as an attempted mediation completely escalated on Monday when the tension between the former partners sustained. The lawyer called the police when the situation threatened to get out of hand. Not much later there were shots.
A 39-year-old man was injured and ran to nearby Van der Valk Hotel Breda to seek help. Hotel employees immediately raised the alarm, after which the emergency services squeezed out en masse.
