VfL Bochum wants to celebrate a liberation at SC Paderborn in the 2nd Bundesliga on match day 5. For coach Dieter Hecking, the game is also a reunion with an ex-employer.

Dieter Hecking played as an active player from 1994 to 1996 for SC Paderborn in the Regionalliga West Südwest. Across competitions at that time scored 25 goals in 73 competitive games for the East Westphalia.

After his career end in 2000, Hecking remained loyal to football. The trainer routiner has been on the sidelines at VfL Bochum since last November.

After relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, the district club held on the 60-year-old. However, the start of the season went wrong: three points after the first four match days are a lean balance – the more important is the away game at SC Paderborn (12th September from 6:30 p.m. in sport.de-Liveticker, the highlights are available immediately after the final whistle RTL+).
