A serious mistake by Lewis Hamilton led to the premature end of Zandvoort. This triggers criticism of the Ferrari pilot.

Ralf Schumacher critically commented on Lewis Hamilton’s mistakes in the Netherlands. The former Formula 1 pilot compared the mistake with a beginner’s mistake: “His mistake was a level of first class elementary school. I am slowly a bit perplexed because nobody doubts that he can do that,” said Schumacher. Nevertheless, the Brit put too much pressure itself. “It is a little tragic at the moment to see him like this,” he said. The speed is still available, but too much passes all around, which affects the services.

The Italian press was once more critical of the Ferrari pilot. The Englishman was “too bad to be true,” wrote the Corriere Dello Sport a few days before the scuderia home game, and the Corriere della Sera became even more detailed. “The biggest investment in Ferrari’s latest story” may be worthwhile in searching for sponsors – but sporty a “disaster”.

In light rain, he ran over the painting next to the route, got there and destroyed his car. “Naive”, “a seven -time world champion unworthy” are these mistakes, the Italian press ruled.

Next Sunday (from 3 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online), his first appearance is a Ferrari driver in the “Temple of Speed”, and the Englishman knows what to expect. “In Monza, huge printing is on us as a team. And most of it because I don’t have a good season,” he said.

Schumacher also took a position on the failure of Lando Norris. He believes that this setback can even mentally help the McLaren pilot. “As crazy as it will sound now – it takes a little pressure off his shoulders. The failure was not his fault and everything he can do is continue to fight and hope that he will get back on the wayside and may be lucky in other situations,” said Schumacher.

One of the biggest surprises of the weekend was Isack Hadjar, who finished third. Schumacher was full of praise: “The whole weekend he drove around great.” This is exactly what is the fascinating thing about Formula 1-that a racing bulls pilot can suddenly appear on the podium. The team has already shown strong performances over the season, but this success is “a great crowning glory”.

Schumacher, on the other hand, is worried about the impending discontinuation of the Grand Prize of the Netherlands after the 2026 season. He made a comparison to the situation in Germany and expressed incomprehension: “I just can’t understand it because such an event is doing something worldwide.” The importance of tourism, economy and image is considerable. It is incomprehensible to him that the state does not support such events more.
