Football Bundesliga club 1. FC Heidenheim will have to do without his relegation heroes in the future: Leonardo Scienza will switch from FCH to FC Southampton to the second English league. For the 26 -year -old midfielder, Heidenheim is said to collect a transfer of up to ten million euros.
The offensive player switched from SSV Ulm to the Ostalb last summer and was still under contract until 2027. In the first two Bundesliga games of the season, Scienza had stood in the FCH starting formation. In the relegation against second division club Elversberg, Scienza secured the relegation with his goal in the second leg.
“His winning goal in the stoppage time of the relegation in Elversberg will remain unforgettable forever, which is why Leo has a large part with this historic goal in the past season we have managed to stay in the Bundesliga again in the past season,” said CEO Holger Sanwald: “The agreement with FC Southampton today is now in such an economic size that we have now agreed.”
Southampton had recently hired from the 2nd league Caspar Jander from 1. FC Nürnberg. The Premier League relegated team paid eleven million for the German U21 international.
