DJ Jordy Graat kicked a blow through the province on Monday, looking for voices for the Top 900. He visited all kinds of people: from Snollebollekes to a listener. Jan Biggel was also not missing and with a well -filled stomach he has completed his task for the day.
The counter is already 89 kilometers after Monday and for someone who has not been on a bike for 10 years. The trip started in a well -known place and luckily Jordy was able to fill his stomach a few kilometers away at Bakker Breadpoint. There was an extensive breakfast including sausage rolls for the radio DJ. Because cycling on an empty stomach, that’s for cyclists.
First stop after the bakery: Rob Kemps in Best. Snollebollekes is still enjoying his wedding. “I thought, if you’re in Best, you have to go to a big artist. Literally a big artist,” laughs Jordy Graat.
‘My Happiness Day’
Rob married his Stephanie a week ago and is still in a ‘love bubble’. “It was a fantastic party,” he says radiantly. “The sun dropped behind the Eiffel Tower and she also said ‘yes’. It was my lucky day.”
Next stop: Camping Rakelbos in East-West-Middelbeers. Jordy found none other than folk singer Jan Biggel. The most famous occupant of the campsite. He had a party the night before. High season? Time for beer! And rain? Well, that’s cozy too. “I couldn’t let that go of course.”
Superster can
On the way back from the party, Jan was ‘good’, but at Jordy at the table he is again ‘fresh and fruity’. The bottle of cognac is already on the table and there are Bossche bulbs ready. Jordy has taken a gift from Rob Kemps for Jan: a can of beer with a signature on the one and only.
Jan doesn’t know what to do with it. “Yes, do I have to drink it with that signature now?” Jordy proposes to put the can on Marktplaats, but Jan thinks a bridge too far. “You can’t put something you got from such a superstar on Marktplaats? I’ll put it somewhere here.”
After eating the Bossche Bol, Jordy cycled further to listener Pierre to have a nice chat and talking about the songs he voted. Jordy closed the day with a visit to the Sint-Janskathedral in Den Bosch. He will probably sleep well tonight with all those kilometers in the legs.
