In September, a waste food store will be opened in Espoo.

This was what Raisio’s pop up shop looked like. Smart food

Known as a waste online store, the Fixy Food says in its announcement it will open its first stone shop to the flagship of Espoo.

Known as an online store, Fixurau had a pop -up store in Raisio last year, so for the first time the store is not in the stove.

The bulletin states that the physical store means the emergence of a new kind of trade concept in the Finnish grocery field.

According to the announcement in Espoo, the first brick-and-mortar store offers surplus and removal items such as food, drinks, cosmetics and home foods that are at risk of being lost. Product prices are at least 30 % cheaper than benchmark prices, but bids can be up to 80 %.

Most commonly, the discount on red -filed products in grocery stores is 30 % to 60 %.

The stone shop extends the selection of smart food to cold and frozen products. In the future, alcohol products will also be available from the store.

The company aims to build a nationwide stone chain.

– At the moment, we focus on making the trade concept and processes work well and profitable for the first trade. Next year, however, more shops are already being opened, probably first in growth centers, says Kai Kuokkanen in the bulletin.

Matsmart also operates online. It has the same basic idea: the shop sells food and household supplies that would otherwise be lost.
