PSV had a dramatic Saturday evening: the national champion lost 0-2 to Telstar in-house. The defeat was certainly not undeserved, because the PhD student was the better in the Philips Stadium for most of the competition.

The question with PSV supporters was mainly in advance how much difference their team would win from Telstar. The surprising PhD student, however, turned out to be the boss in Eindhoven. After a few minutes, the home club got away well and keeper Matej Kovar kept his goal clean. The justified 0-1 after 21 minutes came through the foot of Tyrone Owusu, who shot the ball towards the top corner from about 20 meters.

PSV disappointed heavily and had a hard time against the energetic Telstar. In the front, the people of Eindhoven created virtually nothing. Trainer Peter Bosz could only intervene hard in the break. For example, he kept Dennis Man, who played a dramatic first half, in the dressing room. Left winger Ruben van Bommel and central defender Yarek Gasiorowski could also change clothes. With Ricardo Pepi, Esmir Bajraktarevic and Joey Veerman, three fresh forces arrived.

After the break, PSV pushed into the accelerator pedal and got it a nice chance via Esmir Bajraktarevic that just went next to the goal. Shortly thereafter, Ivan Perisic was close to a goal, but Telstars goalie Ronald Koeman Jr. was in the right place. It was Telstar that then had the greatest chance. Left back Jeff Hardeveld saw an empty goal in front of itself, but hit the side net.

After 65 minutes, the, not even undeserved, 0-2 followed. After substitute Kay Tejan left a big chance, only from a corner, only Telstar attacker Patrick Brouwer paid to the first post. PSV was unable to make it difficult for the guests in an almost stopped stadium. And so the people of Eindhoven lost for the first time this season and that of a formation, which is labeled by many as a relegation candidate.

PSV had a total offdaywhere every player dropped under the lower limit. In the back it was vulnerable, in midfield it was lacking in strength and creativity and PSV managed to put little danger. Many learning points for trainer Peter Bosz, who will have time to work on his team in the coming weeks. The next away match is on Saturday 13 September against the current leader NEC.
