A boy receives a cap by the US Open from the tennis player Kamil Majchrzak that is snatched from him. The athlete begins a search for the fan.
Kamil Majchrzak campaigned for a young fan for an incident after his game at the US Open. After his victory over Karen Khachanov, he had given away a cap to a boy in the audience. However, a man who stood next to the young stood, he tore his cap out of his hand and put her in a pocket that held a woman. It was initially unclear whether the man belonged to the boy.
The Polish tennis player then published a video of the incident on Instagram. He asked his followers for help to find the boy. Majchrzak wrote that he had enough caps from his supplier and wanted to make sure the boy received his gift.
A short time later, the 28-year-old reported again on social media. He explained that he found the boy fan. “I am impressed by the power of the Internet. We found it! Everything is good now,” wrote Majchrzak. On Instagram he shared a video of a meeting with his fan.
In the meantime, the man has also been identified who tore the cap. As the “New York Post” and other US media report, it is said to be the Polish millionaire Piotr S. According to the report, he deactivated his accounts in social networks shortly after his name became known. He is said to be the head of a construction company. In his homeland Poland, criticism was already hailing: “Only an ordinary idiot and a fool can take the hat away from a child,” wrote a user of Gowork.pl. “You can’t buy great,” said another critic.
The businessman apparently saw his mistakes. According to Majchrzak, he tried to apologize to the cheated fan and his family. “He also wanted to make up for things, so I gave him the child’s data on the same social media that I used to contact her,” said Majchrzak.
