VfB Stuttgart is worried about Deniz Undav: The German international had to get off the square early on the 2nd Bundesliga match day in the hit game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was bitter minutes for the 29-year-old.
What happened? The 10th minute in the Stuttgart MHP Arena: Gladbach has cornerball from the right. Shuto Machino misses a direct acceptance of the flank, falling backwards – and caught Undav unhappily on the knee. The attacker bends over, goes to the ground, must be treated briefly. But: after a short treatment he gets up again, wants to return to the game.
Then it gets even more dramatic: Undav tries again, but goes back to the ground right at the next duel. VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß is already preparing the change on the sidelines. Chris Leadership comes into the game, while Undav is based on supervisors.
It is still unclear how seriously Undav’s injury is really. A failure of the striker would come to the Swabians at the absolute wrong time: After moving from Nick Woltemade to Newcastle United, an undav failure would present the Stuttgart offensive with acute problems. National coach Julian Nagelsmann could also face a problem: In the coming week, two caps will be in the World Cup qualification, and and actually are in the contingent.
