On the A28 near Assen, a truck with fireworks flew on fire tonight. The truck was on the way from Groningen, where the fireworks were used earlier in the evening during the festivities around Groningen Relief.
The fire brigade quickly had the fire under control and extinguished the fire with some powerful water jets. Thanks to extra security, the fireworks could not explode. It is not known how the fireworks could catch fire.
The police temporarily closed a lane to give the fire brigade the necessary space. As far as we know, nobody was injured.
