Europe’s most important club competition will start for the second time with its new mode. Instead of a preliminary round with eight groups from four teams, 36 teams meet in a league system. Also included: four German teams.
FC Bayern, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund have qualified for the premier class. This Thursday, the German participants will be drawn to their opponents at the UEFA event in Monaco. Each team is dealing with a total of eight different opponents in four home and four away games.
