He made it more than exciting: Daniel Altmaier prevailed in New York with a lot of perseverance and nerve strength. The 26-year-old from Kempen won his first round match at the US Open against Hamid Medjedovic after 4.46 hours-and is thus in round two of the Grand Slam tournament for the second time.
