The Meppel fire brigade has saved two cows from the water tonight. The animals had landed in the ditch on the Staphorster Grote Stouwe between Meppel and Staphorst.
Bystanders saw the animals stand in the ditch and called the fire brigade. The fire brigade has put a ladder over the ditch to get to the pasture and then took the animals out of the ditch together with the farmer.
