RImini, 26 Aug. (askanews) – San Francesco d’Assisi painted in natural size on the original table of the coverage of the wooden coffin of the patron saint of Italy. The ‘pearl’ of the exhibition is a Cimabue of 1290 “Me, friar Francesco” set up at Rimini Meeting, 800 years after the death of the saint most loved by the Italians. An exhibition edited by the Friars Minor of the Porziuncola of Assisi, to tell the topicality of the life and the example of the saint.

San Francesco del Cimabue

Francesco Piloni, provincial minister of the Friars Minor in Umbria and Sardinia, one of the curators of the exhibition. “It seemed nice to be able to give not only to Italy but to all the people who love St. Francis a reading of the inheritance of Francesco who allows not simply to listen to his history but to purify it from the common places on him and to give the floor to Francesco”.

The exhibition develops in a narrative path Which starts from a structure made by sheets that recall the Franciscan tunic, with images of the works of Frà Sidival Fila, Franciscan Friar Minor and artist, which bases its artistic research starting from the disused materials, especially fabrics, including linen, cotton, silk, hemp. We then arrive at the height of the exhibition: a peak that brings the visitor to a sort of face to face with Francesco.

We are faced with this wounded man, who holds the Gospel between the heart and the belly. The love of the life of Francis who wants to continually give birth to new men who in turn generate new words who will last forever “.

A precious relic that is now made available for the meeting audience. A real success, given the boom of visits every day.
