At a WWE show, a wrestler went too far with a derogatory comment on Ozzy Osbourne.
On Monday, August 25th, the WWE (Word Wrestling Entertainment) brought her weekly live show “RAW” to the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham. The event was broadcast worldwide via Netflix. A comment by wrestler Becky Lynch about Ozzy Osbourne caused a shitstorm that evening and just a few weeks after the death of Osbourne, which died on July 22nd at the age of 76.

Becky Lynch ensures scandal at WWE RAW in Birmingham
The focus of the show was a segment between the said Irish wrestler Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella, which was to drive the tension for their title match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in Paris next weekend. Lynch currently embodies a kind of rogue role and regularly uses her appearances to specifically provoke cities and fans.
When Bella asked her for a spontaneous struggle, Lynch refused and instead referred to the late musician. “I don’t compete in Birmingham. The only good thing that came from here died a month ago. But after all, Ozzy Osbourne had the mind of moving to Los Angeles. If I lived in Birmingham, I would also be dead,” she explained – whereupon loud boos in the hall followed.
Shitstorm on social media: disrespectful way of dealing with rock legends
The statements caused criticism on social media. It is common in wrestling that so -called “heels”, ie a “evil guy”, create mood against local heroes or idols through exaggerated comments. However, many fans found the joke over Osbourne’s death unsuitable and disrespectful, since it had only died shortly before.
