Dow Jones-Bleichter show Europe’s stock markets after the start of trade on Tuesday. In addition to the attack by Donald Trump, the independence of the US Federal Reserve is now also concerned about a budget crisis in France. The Paris CAC-40 index falls by 1.8 percent. The main losers are the stocks of the banks; Their index gives up 2.3 percent. The DAX is pulled down by 0.5 percent to 24,151 points. The Euro Stoxx-50 loses 0.8 percent to 5,401 points.
New concerns about France – banks are collapsing
The budget dispute in France could quickly become an issue for all -European, according to the trade. Prime Minister François Bayrou wants to hold a vote of trust in the French parliament because of his controversial savings plans. However, he lacks the voices to bring the household through parliament on his own. As early as 2024, his predecessor Michel Barnier had to step down because of a failed budget. The returns on the French bond markets shot upwards and triggered fears about a debt crisis.
In addition, the consumer confidence in France has surprisingly slipped. Banks suffer from it because they are strongly active in the business with consumer loans. Societe Generals and BNP Paribas break up by up to 6.7 percent, Credit Agricole by 5.3 percent. Axa falls by 5.2 percent among insurers. The retailer Carrfour is 2.2 percent lower.
In the DAX Commerzbank falls by 4.6 percent and Deutsche Bank by 1.3 percent.
Trump attacks independence of the Fed
Donald Trump is also burdening the stock exchanges: the evening before, he announced the Fed Gouvene Lisa Cook by tweet. So far, market participants cannot classify whether there is a legal basis for this. UBS boss economist Paul Donovan initially expects a walk through the dishes, after which the Senate would also have to agree to a successor.
“This does not lack a certain comedy – and it is precisely this to make you unpredictability,” commented a dealer. Because Trump accused Cook of false information in mortgage applications, so exactly the same thing that a New York Court of Appeal found in Donald Trump the previous week. This has a stressful effect on the dollar. “The events around Governor Lisa Cook has the potential to ensure new uncertainty on Wall Street,” says QC Partners.
In addition to the banks, most DAX values only write down in the zero-comma range. Mercedes-Benz goes 0.2 percent lower. The announced sale of the participation to Nissan Motors does not have a positive effect.
Puma shows the expected profit from the previous day. The stocks jumped over 16 percent of reports that the owner family Pinault wanted to withdraw from the sporting subject. Now it goes down 3.4 percent.
Dermaphharm give in 1.4 percent. Here the business figures were within the expected framework.
